How is essential oil useful for pets?

As it is known, essential oils can be beneficial not only for us but also for our pets. There are several different ways you can use them and, thanks to essential oils, nurture the well-being of your little friends.

COLLARS

One of the easiest ways to integrate essential oils in pet care is with collars that contain essential oils. They provide natural protection for the pet against parasites - ticks, fleas, etc. This is one of the easiest ways to protect your four-legged friend, as it is enough to put the collar on and it is already doing its job. The pet is protected, so you can go for walks in nature.

DIFFUSER

Another simple way is to evaporate essential oils suitable for pets with diffusers. It is also an extremely simple way to use essential oils to soothe and relax a pet. The diffuser converts water, along with essential oils, into vapors and these spread throughout the room. The particles then enter the body as the pet breathes and help stabilize his emotional state.

APPLYING OIL ON THE COAT AGAINST INSECTS, TICKS

Another way you can use essential oils is to apply them to the pet‘s coat or skin to further protect it from various insects. Each time before going outside, traveling to nature, etc., the pet's coat should be coated or sprayed with essential oils. This is an effective method of protection because ticks and other parasites can smell intense essential oils and therefore do not penetrate the pet’s skin. By the way, this method of protection is also suitable for humans. When traveling to nature with a pet, you can not only apply it on the pet's coat, but also apply it yourself.

You can also make a spray or a mixture of essential oil protection against insects and ticks yourself:

SPRAY - To make a spray against ticks, you first need a 50 ml bottle with a spray nozzle, 1 tablespoon of rubbing alcohol, as well as water and the desired essential oil. First, add 10-20 drops of the selected essential oil to the rubbing alcohol. Pour everything into a bottle of water and shake well. Thats all! The spray is made. Just remember to shake the bottle well before each use. This spray can be used on the pet’s coat when traveling to nature or on another trip.

MIXTURE - if you want to make a mixture of essential oils, you will need 50 ml of vegetable oil (it can be jojoba, almond or other) and your favorite essential oil. The process is extremely simple - just mix 10-20 drops of essential oil with the selected vegetable oil. After making this mixture, it can be applied to the pet's coat, thus providing natural protection against ticks and other parasites.

ESSENTIAL OILS THAT REPELL INSECTS

For effective protection, choose products that contain essential oils of eucalyptus, lavender, lemongrass, geranium, heather / rosalin, as these are the plants that provide the best protection against ticks. Lemongrass and geraniums are best at repelling insects such as mosquitoes, fleas, flies, wasps, mites, and so on. Heather / rosal essential oil perfectly masks body odor and can help repel mosquitoes and other insects that can cause unpleasant skin sensations. Lavender and eucalyptus essential oils take care of the skin after a bite - lavender reduces redness, stinging pain, and eucalyptus oil suppresses the allergic reaction caused by the sting and relieves itching. All of these oils complement each other and can therefore provide more intense protection than individual essential oils.

Essential oils can be a great help not only for a person, but also for our little quadruple friends. Enjoy together!
